Students in all middle school AIM classes participated in The Marshmallow Challenge. Several expressed interest in having parents complete the challenge. If you would like to participate

    Marshmallow Challenge

Materials: 20 sticks of standard spaghetti, 1 yard of string, 1 yard of tape, 1 marshmallow (not mini)

Objective: Build the tallest freestanding structure.

The winning team is the one that has the tallest structure measured from the table top to the top of the marshmallow. This means the structure cannot be suspended from a higher structure.

The entire marshmallow must be on top. Cutting or eating part of the marshmallow disqualifies the team.

Use as much or as little of the kit as you would like. The paper bag may not be used as part of the structure.

You may break up the spaghetti, string and tape.

Winning structure must be and remain stable.

    The challenge lasts 18 minutes.
