UPDATE 9/5/17

 

Traffic Jam seemed like a simple task, at first, but students quickly learned that things aren't always as they seem. It look time flexible thinking and lots of trial and error to figure out how to move students (cars), from one side of the street to the other. It was an excellent experience for persevering and working through frustration (there was a lot of it)! Students also learned that it's important to step back and look at the big picturing, rather than only focusing on individual steps necessary to accomplish a larger goal. It was difficult for some to let go of a solution they thought was perfect, even though it became evident that it didn't work.
