    Switchzoo - "Create crazy animals that could never exist in this surrealistic virtual zoo!" You can add a Language Arts twist to this activity by asking your students to create a "diary" about this animal's habitat, eating habits, enemies, adaptations, etc.

    Great Women in History - March is Women's History month! Learn about some remarkable American women and their contributions to society.

    Eyewitness History - "History through the eyes of those who lived it." Here you'll find first-person accounts of historical events, combined with lots of images, photos, and some sound recordings.

    Hear History and Politics out loud - Hear politically and historically important speeches at this searchable audio archive.

    Ellis Island Search - You can search for ancestors who came to America through Ellis Island, create your own family scrapbook, and learn about the immigrant experience at this nicely designed site.

    History Place - This well-designed site has extensive exhibits on the American Civil War, WW II, and other major periods. Each exhibit offers informative essays, timelines, and photos. The content changes frequently as new exhibits are added.

    Geography IQ - GeographyIQ is an online world atlas packed with geographic, economic, political, historical and cultural information.

    Art/Music

    Independent Lens- "This overview highlights some of the American songs and songwriters whose words and music served as catalysts for thought, action and even social change." Listen to songs and read lyrics at this thought-provoking companion Web site to the film by the same name.

    PE/Health

    Kids Health - This site helps parents, children, and professionals find answers to commonly asked health questions. Topics include the benefits of different types of vitamins, the food pyramid, healthy children's recipes, how to read food labels, and keeping fit. Children can also submit their own questions. Check out the "Childhood Infections" section under "Parents" for information about appendicitis, meningitis, mumps, and more. For a good laugh, be sure to read the entry about that most common of all childhood afflictions, cooties.

    Fun Brain - One of the best online sites for kids, this site provides excellent games for different subject areas.  Teachers can also create quizzes that kids can take.
