About Mrs. Lowrance

  • Hello. My name is Melissa Lowrance. Welcome to 5th grade. This is my third year at Millburn and I consider myself lucky to teach in such a great district.  I have taught grades 1st-5th over 15 years as a classroom teacher, an information specialist, and an elementary science lab teacher. For a couple years, I worked with the Division of Education teaching future teachers at Trinity International University. Even though I have loved all my classes, my favorite is 5th grade. It's where I started teaching and where I have the most fun.

I have an elementary education B.S degree from Greenville College and an M.Ed from National Louis University in Curriculum and Instruction. I have endorsements in social sciences, Spanish and gifted education.

I live in Antioch with my husband and 3 daughters ages 15, 12, and 10. We live on a little farm where we raise chickens. Farm fresh eggs are the BEST! We love camping together and have visited many state parks and a couple national parks.  We have a black lab puppy named Scout.

I am so excited for this year and I know it's going to be a great one!
