My Resources

  • In this section you will find some resources/strategies we use to help our students learn their addition and subtraction using Touch Math points and Math Fixers to teach multiplication.

Touch Math:  Students begin by learning where the points are located on each number 1-9.  When solving an addition problem such as 5 + 8, students start with the big number (8), say its name, and then count on touching the points on the number 5.  In time, students memorize the points rather than using their fingers.

Math Fixers for Multiplication:  Using this method, there are a total of 36 facts that students learn.  With daily practice, students can memorize their multiplication facts to help them in solving more difficult multistep multiplication and division problems.
